tHe cause
The St. Gaspar Hospital serves as a crucial referral center for patients all over Tanzania including expecting mothers and children. Because of the lack of neonatal equipment, mothers, premature babies, and neonatal patients have a higher risk of mortality.
Enhancing the quality of care during the neonatal period is crucial for newborn survival. Shockingly, over 75% of Tanzanian newborn deaths occur within the first week of life, with half of them happening within the initial 24 hours post-birth. Leading causes of these fatalities include prematurity, neonatal sepsis, and asphyxia.
The hospital wants to establish a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to ensure quality healthcare and to save more lives. They need support in funding essential equipment such as renovations, crash carts, neonatal CPAP machines, portable ventilators, and a manifold oxygen system. Your generosity will enhance healthcare services and save lives.
